The Nail Challenge Collaborative - February 2016: Typography

*purchased by me*

Hey there! Today I have my third post for The Nail Challenge Collaborative February Typography theme.  For this one I went with Romeo & Juliet passages.

I started with a base of Zoya Yuna and stamped using Rica Whiteout and MoYou London Literature 02 plate. Romeo & Juliet is one of my favorite love stories so I knew I wanted to do something this month with it.

I did this mani earlier this month for Valentine's Day, and just didn't get a chance to write a post. That's why I have the Cupids on my index and pinkie fingers!

What is one of your favorite love stories?

Red Coat Tuesday - Fair Maiden Polish High Priestess

*purchased by me*

Hey there! Tonight I have a quick Red Coat Tuesday post for you.  I recently got Fair Maiden Polish High Priestess which is a pink leaning red with gold to pink shifting shimmer and decided it would be a great color to wear for Pretty Little Liars tonight.  You'll see a pic with it more leaning more pink below.

I don't usually wear gold toned polishes cause they don't look great with my skin tone, but I do think this is very pretty. I love the shimmer in it, and it's unique to my collection. I had a really hard time photographing this to show the actual color, but the colors above are very close.  It is a rather sheer polish so I used three coats and topcoat.

As I mentioned this polish leans pink and most of my photos looked like this. It's definitely much more red on the nails, but I love the shimmer in this pic so had to share.

Unfortunately I don't have a PLL recap tonight cause honestly I can't remember what happened at week! Hopefully I'll find this week's episode more memorable!

Red Coat Tuesday featuring Chaos & Crocodiles Never Give Up On A Miracle

*purchased by me*

Hey there! There's a new episode of Pretty Little Liars on tonight so that means I have a new Red Coat Tuesday mani for you!

This week I'm wearing Chaos & Crocodiles Never Give Up On A Miracle.  This polish is a gorgeous cranberry-red ultra linear holographic polish with a violet arc. This is two coats of the polish, but it could have been a one coater. I just always prefer two coats!

I wanted to show you this in different light. Isn't the holo in this fantastic?  I am in love with this color. Although it's from an X-Files collection I think it works fine for Red Coat Tuesday too!

Now onto the PLL chat!  Spoiler Alert for those of you not caught up. Let's start with Spencer and her lunch "appointment" with Yvonne. First off, who set that up? Mona? And second, why would Yvonne leave her phone? She wouldn't have, and it's very convenient that Mona was the one there to pick it up. What is she up to?  I think Spencer and Aria are crazy to search Sara Harvey's room! I wouldn't want to get caught by her, but I am intrigued to see where the hole in her closet wall leads.

Overall I thought it was a good episode. What did you think? What are you looking forward to for tonight's episode? I'm curious to see how Ali knows the golf club wasn't the murder weapon and what actually was!

The Nail Challenge Collaborative - February 2016: Typography

*purchased by me*

Hey there! Today I have my second post for The Nail Challenge Collaborative February Typography theme. To be honest I'm struggling with this theme, but trying me best.

Last week I showed you my post with Baroness X Doomfire HERE.  I did the nail art for my this look over that mani and am now just getting the time to write the post.  I stamped with Rica Whiteout and Blackout using MoYou London The Pro XL 08 plate to create my "Queen of Hearts" look.

Here's a close up of my accent nail so you can see the type better. I thought I had this great idea using this stamp with the hearts, but it wasn't as easy to read on. I still love this idea though.

I'm not sure I'm grasping the typography theme 100%, but I'm gonna do it the best I can.

Any ideas for good typography manis? What do you think of my Queen of hearts look?

The Nail Challenge Collaborative - February 2016: Typography

*purchased by me*

Hey there!  Today I have my first post for The Nail Challenge Collaborative February Typography theme. Typography is the style, arrangement, or appearance of printed letters on a page.  So basically my posts this month will have letters or words on them!

I started with a base of two coats of Lynnderella Vampearl.  I love this beautiful, pearly microglitter.  I wore it for a few days because I just didn't want to take it off!

I decided to do a Valentine's Day mani for my first post so I stamped using Rica Pinky Promise and MoYou London The Pro 09 plate.  This plate has both the hearts and I <3 YOU on it so it worked out perfectly.

I love Rica's stamping polishes and Pinky Promise is no exception.  It stamped perfectly for me and made this look exactly what I wanted it to be.  It's so girly and perfect for Valentine's Day!

I'm definitely going to have to get creative this month. Typography is a tough theme for me since I don't have many stamping plates with words or letters on them.  Please check back to see what I come up with next!

Have you done any Valentine's Day nail art?  What would you do for a typography mani?

Red Coat Tuesday - Baroness X Doomfire

Hey there! Today I have for you a new post for Red Coat Tuesday which means there's a new episode of Pretty Little Liars on tonight.  I didn't get a chance to do nail art this week, but I do have a beautiful polish to share with you.

I started with a base of two coats of OPI In the Cable Car-Pool Lane.  This polish was more sheer than I expected and very streaky. If I was going to wear it on its own I would have done a third coat.

I knew I wanted to use Baroness X Doomfire for two reasons. First I wanted to see what it would look like over a red base, and second it worked with my alphabetical untrieds challenge cause today is the letter X.

Doomfire is one of those colors that looks great over blues and purples, but I haven't seen it layered over red much.  When I picked up my bottle I actually saw a lot of red in it so thought it would look amazing over a red base.  It doesn't show the blue or purple dash much, but if you look at the picture below you can see a green flash.

Doomfire is a group custom that I am so happy I was able to get. I love colors like this, and I know the pigment Baroness X used is very hard to come by! I honestly couldn't capture this beauty well on my phone.  It's so much sparklier in person!

Now onto some Pretty Little Liars gossip! Spoiler Alert if you aren't caught up. So I did not like Toby's girlfriend. Toby should be with Spencer. I really hoped there would be more of a reaction from him about her new relationship with Caleb. I am glad that Hanna came clean to her mom. I think the liars wouldn't have been in so much trouble if they came clean all along.

What did you think of last week's episode? Thoughts on this week?

Red Coat Tuesday - Stardust Polish and Rica

*purchased by me*

Hey there!  I'm back with another Red Coat Tuesday post so that means there's a new episode of Pretty Little Liars on tonight.  Yay!!

For this week's look I decided to do some nail art.  I started with a base of two coats of Stardust Polish Infrared Apex.  I actually wore this color for two days with no tip wear or chipping.  I used MoYou London Princess 12 plate and Rica Blackout to create the roses on my middle and ring fingers then I finished them with Butter London Matte Finish. On my index and pinkie finger I added a dot of Blackout with a dotting tool and finished with KBShimmer Clearly On Top

SPOILER TIME: Last week's episode of PLL was interesting.  Hanna erasing the tape was probably not the smartest move, but I did like that Lucas tried to help her out.  Sara Harvey really annoys me, and it's creepy how she's just always where Emily is. I also don't think it's a great idea for Aria to continue writing Ezra's book for him, but that's just my opinion!  I am looking forward to Toby's reaction to the Spencer/Caleb storyline tonight.

I'm happy with how my nails turned out. The matte topcoat messed up my stamping a little, but I still think this look is something the liars would wear!

What are your thoughts on last week's episode?

The Nail Challenge Collaborative - January 2016: Purple

*purchased by me*

Hey there!  Today I have my fourth post for The Nail Challenge Collaborative January purple theme. Although I started out not loving this month's theme I ended up really liking it!

For my final look I decided to do a fan brush mani.  I started with a base of two coats of Essie Lilacism.  I also used Zoya Perrie and Serenity to create this look.

I always love fan brush nail art.  It's something I need to do more often.  It looks so cool, and is an easy way to create a fun, colorful look.

I ended up having a lot of fun with my purple manis.  I hope you all liked them as much as I did.  February's theme is Typography. I have no clue what I'm going to do for this one!

What was your favorite of my purple looks? Do you have any ideas for typography themed nail art?
