Nail of the Day - Indie Untrieds

*purchased by me*

Hey there! Today I have for you some untried indie polishes that I've been wearing for the last couple of days.  KBShimmer Let's Not Coral, Rica Whiteout, and whale nail decals from Lacquer by Lissa. I love how fun & summery this mani is so I haven't wanted to take it off.

I started with Nailtiques Formula 2, 2 coats of Let's Not Coral, 2 coats of Whiteout (although only 1 was needed), and 1 coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

I knew I wanted to use my new nail decals from Lacquer by Lissa and thought the whale ones would be perfect for this mani.

I applied 2 additional coats of Clearly On Top so the decals would feel smooth.

KBShimmer can be purchased at kbshimmer.com.  Check out the Etsy shops for Rica and Lacquer by Lissa for their products.

Have you tried any nail decals yet? What are your favorites? And what are your favorite summer polishes?

Barielle Positive Zen-ergy and Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer One Gray-T Year

*purchased by me*

Hey there! Today I have a manicure for you featuring Barielle Positive Zen-ergy which is a light grassy green with a silver shimmer and Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer One Gray-T Year which is a grey matte polish with rainbow micro-flakies. I've had this Barielle polish for a long time, but have yet to try it so thought it was a good one for shimmer day in the summer of untrieds challenge.

POLISHED USED
1 Coat Nailtiques Formula 2
2 Coats Barielle Positive Zen-ergy
2 Coats Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer One Gray-T Year
1 Coat KBShimmer Clearly On Top

This picture was taken with a flash because I was having a hard time capturing the shimmer in One Gray-T Year.

I decided to add one coat of Zoya Shimmer to One Gray-T Year to get more of a shimmer.

This was taken outdoors in the sunlight.

Barielle can be purchased at www.barielle.com.  You can get BEGL in her shop, and Zoya at www.zoya.com.

What are some of your favorite shimmer polishes?

My First Post! Mentality Virginia and Majesty

*purchased by me*

Hi ya'll! Today is my first post, and I'm a little nervous so bear with me. I'm excited to show you my mani using Mentality Virginia and Majesty.

I've been participating in a summer of untrieds challenge that my friend Julie from Wishes of a Blue-Eyed Girl created. Yesterday's theme was matte so I decided to use Mentality Virginia, which is part of the pastel mattes collection and is described as a light teal matte polish. I think it's more of a mint green on me though, and Majesty which is described as a light-medium red purple matte polish.

I'm not usually a fan of matte polishes on me, but I do like both of these. I had some issues with the polish looking cracked so this is three coats of each over Nailtiques formula 2. I think if I used a ridge filling basecoat I would have only needed to do two coats.

I decided to have some fun with this mani and add some dots.

I used my largest dotting tool to get this look.

Finally, I wanted to see what these polishes look like with topcoat. I used one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

There isn't much of a difference with the topcoat, but you can see some shimmer in them which is nice.

What do you think of this mani? Are you a fan of matte polishes? Let me know!
