Nail Challenge Collaborative: September 2017 - Inspired by a Garment

Hey there!  Today I have my second post for the Nail Challenge Collaborative September Inspired by a Garment theme.  For this one I went with an orange and black plaid look based on a top I saw online and love! 

I started with a base of OPI It's a Piazza Cake.  I did two coats and finished it with topcoat.  This color totally screams fall to me.  It's the perfect burnt orange and totally reminds me of pumpkin and falling leaves. 

This is the shirt that inspired this look.  I used MoYou London Black Knight and Hipster 05 plate to create this look.  I wish I had the link to this top to share with you, but I can't find it anymore.  This makes me really sad because I really want to purchase it!

My stamping isn't perfect on this one, but I'm still happy with it.  It totally resembles the top that inspired me, and this look reminds me of fall and Halloween.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative - September 2016: Harvest Time

Hey there!  Today I have my first post for September's The Nail Challenge Collaborative Harvest Time theme. We have a lot of leeway with this months theme and can really do whatever we feel fits with harvest time. I'm excited for this prompt because I love fall! 

For this look I went with some simple acorns! Fall makes me think of the local animals looking for nuts and seeds to store for the winter so it's their harvest time!  I started with a base of two coats of KBShimmer Tiers of Joy which is a gorgeous cream color with gold, pink, brown, and holographic glitters.  It's such a pretty color and a great transition polish between summer and fall.  

Here is a picture of Tiers of Joy without the nail art so you can see how pretty the glitters are. 

I used acorn nail vinyls from What's Up Nails and KBShimmer Oh My Ganache to create the acorns. Oh My Ganache is a beautiful chocolate brown linear holo that I can't wait to wear on its own, but I thought would be perfect for this mani!  

Like I mentioned, I'm super excited for the harvest time theme!  I love my acorn mani and have so many other ideas for this month!

Fan Brush Nail Art

Hey there!  Today I have for you my first fan brush, nail art manicure.  I had been wanting to try this for a while and decided it would look cool with some fall colors! 

I started with a base of China Glaze Kalahari Kiss which is a light golden creme. I've honestly had this polish for years, and this is the first time I'm wearing it. It's an interesting color, but I'm not sure how I feel about it on my skin tone.

Using a fan brush from a set of nail art brushes I ordered on Amazon I painted layers using Sinful Colors Citrine and Essie Partner In Crime.  As I mentioned I have never tried this before, and I love how it turned out! I even got my six year old nephew's seal of approval! 

Have you tried fan brush nail art yet?  What colors would you use?  I can't wait to do this again with different colors.  Maybe I'll do red, white, and green for Christmas!
