A2Z Series Week 26 - Z is for Zig Zags

*purchased by me*

Hey there!  Here is my post for the last week of the A2Z Weekly Challenge! I was actually caught up and finished the challenge on time, but with work I didn't have time to get my posts up.  Week 26's theme was Z is for Zig Zags.

I started with a base of Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Void Stuff.  Once it was completely dry I used lightning bolt Nail Vinyls and painted over them with Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Zero Balance Dwarf Star Alloy.  I finished the mani with KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

I really love this color combination, and how this turned out.  I will definitely be doing this with other colors.

I can't believe the A2Z Weekly Challenge is done.  Not being able to have nail art at work made it tough, but I'm glad I made it through it.  Check back in a couple of weeks to see the next challenge I'll be doing!

What was your favorite look I did this challenge? What nail art challenges do you participate in?

May 2015 The Nail Challenge Collaborative - Spring Flowers

*purchased by me*

Hey there! Today I have my fourth and final post for May's The Nail Challenge Collaborative theme, Spring Flowers. This one is actually my favorite of the four because I really like the color combination!

I started with a base of Elevation Polish Hitsujiyama Park.  With a dotting tool I created the flowers using KBShimmer Beach Please and Rica Whiteout.  I added in a few smaller dots as well.  I finished up the mani with KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

I'm glad I was able to find the time to get participate in this challenge.  I wish I could have nail art at work, but at least I can on the weekends!

A2Z Series Week 25 - Y is for You

*all products purchased by me except Born Pretty Store stamping plate was sent for review*

Hey there!  Today I have for you Week 25 of the A2Z Weekly Challenge, and this week Y is for You!  Yes, I'm finally getting caught up on my posts, only three weeks after the challenge ended!

I decided to do a different design on each nail with things about me!  I started with a base of Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Cotton Candy Clouds. As some of you know, BEGL is my favorite indie brand so I felt it was perfect for a post about me!

I love the water so on my index finger I stamped waves with Pahlish Sailing the Hispaniola and MoYou London Sailor 06 plate.  I'm Irish so wanted to do something to show that.  On my middle finger I stamped a Claddagh (sorry it's a little crooked) using Bonita Dream Wonderland and MoYou London Festive 21 plate. I love presents and bows so on my ring finger I stamped using Rica Whiteout and MoYou London The Pro XL08 plate.  Finally, I love nail polish - duh! I stamped a nail polish bottle using Rica Pinky Promise and Born Pretty Store BP-29 plate which was sent to me for review.

There's more to me, but that's a good beginning!

May 2015 The Nail Challenge Collaborative - Spring Flowers

*purchased by me*

Hey there! Today I have my third post for The Nail Challenge Collaborative May 2015 Spring Flowers challenge.  I always wanted to try cherry blossom nail art so decided now was a perfect time.

I started with a base of two coats of Pahlish Tropical Island Treasure which is a really pretty aqua creme with tiny blown flakes.  It's quite beautiful! I used a random black striper to make the branches and dotted with Rica Whiteout and Elevation Polish Hitsujiyama Park for the cherry blossoms.

I admit this isn't perfect, but I do think it's cute and perfect for spring flower nail art! I remember a class trip I went to in Washington DC, and I fell in love with all the cherry blossom trees along the mall!

What do you think of this spring flowers look?  What's your favorite flower?

May 2015 The Nail Challenge Collaborative - Spring Flowers

*polishes purchased by me*
*stamping plate sent for review*

Hey there! Today I have for you my second Spring Flowers post for The Nail Challenge Collaborative May theme.

I wanted to do something subtle so I could get away with wearing it at work.  I started with two coats of Ellagee Beach Bum and stamped over it with Ellagee By The Sea.

I used a stamping plate from Born Pretty Store that I was sent for review.  It is BP-08 plate and it is a butterfly theme, but had these cute flowers on it.  I find their stamping plates really easy to use and love this design.  I probably should have used a darker color so you could see it better, but this was great for work. Don't forget to use code SGSG10 for 10% off your order at Born Pretty Store.

What do you think of these subtle flowers? Do you know any good flower nail art tutorials?

A2Z Series Week 24 - X is for eXtra Special

Hey there!  Today I have my X is for eXtra Special post for the A2Z Weekly Challenge. I am so behind, but need to get these posts up.  The challenge is already done, but work got in the way.

I wanted to use a custom nail polish my friend Julie from Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer made for me in remembrance of my Dad as my base color cause it is my most extra special polish.  It's I Want To Hold Your Hand, and it resembles his tie collection so closely.  When I was little and even years later my Dad would let me pick out his ties based on the suit and shirt combo he came up with, and this particular Beatles song was my Daddy's Girl song when I was little!

I decided to use my MoYou London Romeo & Juliet plate over this polish as R&J is one of my favorite stories and is my all time favorite movie thanks to Leonardo and Claire in the starting roles.  It's hard to read the words, but they are directly from Shakespeare's original play.  I used Rica Pinky Promise to stamp with which is the perfect pink stamping polish. I'm glad I was able to find this for sale.

Thinking about it this is an odd combo.  A polish in honor of my Dad and then Romeo & Juliet, but I picked things that were extra special to me.  I hope that makes sense.

What is extra special to you?

May 2015 The Nail Challenge Collaborative - Flowers

*purchased by me*

Hey there!  I joined a new nail art challenge, The Nail Challenge Collaborative.  Each month the members vote on a theme and have to do four manicures based on it.  Seemed like a fun idea to me so I decided to join. May's theme is Spring Flowers.

I started with a base of Ellagee Snoozing In The Hammock which is described as a sun-bleached neon periwinkle crime.  It's gorgeous, and I only needed two coats!

When it was completely dry, I used the toothpick method for flowers that I learned from elleandish on YouTube. I used Ellagee Toes In The Sand and She Sells Seashells plus Rica Whiteout for the flowers, and Ellagee Seaside Cottage for the leaves.  Once it was dry I finished the mani off with https://www.facebook.com/KBShimmerBathandBody?fref=ts Clearly On Top.

The toothpick method is easy and fun for flowers.  HERE is the link to the tutorial I used.

What do you think of my first Nail Challenge Collaborative mani?  What are some different ways to do flowers?

A2Z Series Week 23 - W is for Wild

*polishes purchased by me*
*stamping plate sent for review*

Hey there!  I'm getting caught up on the A2Z Weekly Challenge, and this week W is for Wild. Originally I was going to do leopard spots, but I remembered I had this adorable owl plate that I was sent from Born Pretty Store to review.

I started with a base of Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Shimmering Sandcastles.  I stamped the owls with Cupcake Polish Back To The Fuchsia and I stamped the tree branches with Zoya Spencer.  I used Born Pretty Store BP-54 plate which is a great owl themed plate!  It was super easy to use and I love these owls!

Owls live in the wild so I thought they were perfect!  I decided to paint them in pink to make them even more wild! Silly I know!

Born Pretty Store has so many nail art options and it's very affordable.  You can buy this owl stamping plate HERE.  Please like them on Facebook and follow on Instagram.  Don't forget to use my discount code SGSG10 for 10% off your order.
