First, I want to say sorry for not posting in over a month. Work has been crazy busy, but I'm trying to get caught up on my challenges. I do still post swatches on Instagram so please follow me there @samantha1027. Today I have for you my first post for May's The Nail Challenge Collaborative's Spring Fashion theme.
My first look is inspired by the fashions above. I am unable to find the designer to give them credit, but these looks screamed spring to me so I wanted to use them.
I started with a base of three coats of Ellagee Seaside Cottage which is a sun-bleached neon yellow-green creme. I did three coats cause it was a little streaky after the second coat, but I think topcoat would have smoothed it out. I honestly love this color!
For the "lace" on the outfits above I decided to use a nude creme to mock the skin showing through the cut-outs. I used Zoya Avery and a fitting tool. No matter how many times I use my dotting tools I never get my dots even. It's frustrating, and something I continue to work on with practice.
Even though my dots aren't perfect I do think I captured the style of the design above. My accent nail does not have a flower design to mimic the neckline on the dress.
Overall I'm happy with how this turned out. I'm looking forward to doing more Spring Fashion looks for you this month.
What fashion designers would you get inspiration from for this theme? What's your favorite spring fashion trend?
